Week 6
Recitation:
Made significant progress in the Final Report Draft. Not much else was worked as the working space wasn't adequate with what is needed. For instance, making the gel isn't possible and the physical system requires the gel for testing. Once these were completed, the report will be finished.
Lab:
Made the test gel. Tested it with external and internal magnet. Varying results were found with each test. Figure 6.1 is the gel with the internal magnet inside it. Figure 6.2 is a picture of both
The external magnet holder was picked up and sanded as it wasn't able to hold the external magnet. A series of unfortunate events lead to two members attempting to press fit it in. In the end, it worked with half of it in and half of it not, but as it is fine, no further work was needed. May revisit it at a later date. Figure 6.3 and figure 6.4 is of the result of this work. After much fixing, managed to press fit the entire thing in. Figure 6.5 is the final product with screws to attach to the board with the mount.
The code for the camera was improved. Downloaded thousands of images of balls from Google Images open images database V5 to help track and re-detect the ball if the spherical magnet gets out of range.
