Week 5
Recitation:
Worked on the final proposal. Designed the external magnet holder, finishing it, and sending it in for 3D printing.
Lab:
Placed the motor on top of the board prepared and attempted to somehow put the mount on top of the board. Options include hot gluing it onto the board or drilling holes into the mount to fasten onto the board. Of the two options, hot glue was used as there was no other choice at the time.
Figure 5.2 is what the physical system is planned to look like. The big magnet is used as a weight as the mount isn't attached yet. The big petri dish is used as a placeholder with three small magnets also being used as a placeholder for the one.
Prototype of the gel was also made to test how the gel interacts with the magnet both externally and internally. The prototype that was made was more or less unusable, so no picture was taken to show progress.
Motion tracking was further developed on the mount when it was originally not made in reference with it. As of this update, it is so and so. Further testing and debugging will be done this week.
